Anyone else out there able to confirm that "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover"
tracks into "Slip Slidin' Away"on this cd. The DB doesn't indicate as such and
I'm trying decide if I'm hearing it right. Thanks

That's a tough call. Some would say yes it tracks barely over the introduction of "Slip Slidin' Away" and others would say no it doesn't. If you think it does track over the introduction then I will change it in the database.

I just bought the track on iTunes, and I don't hear anything. However, the weird thing is there are TWO versions of The Essential Paul Simon CD there. One, the normal one. The other, "Bonus Video Version". According to the times, 50 Ways on the regular version runs 3:06, while on the bonus version, it's 3:28. Is it possible it overtracks on one version, and not the other?

I got mine off the bonus version.

What's the difference between the LP version and the 45 version for "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover"?

To Crap:

I recall the single had two less measures
of drummer Steve Gadd's intro.

Assuming that the version on Greatest Hits Etc is correct, to create the 45 version of "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover", remove 8 beats from 0.09.2-0.13.9 of the LP version and hasten the fade of the outro drumbeats. (My timing is from Time-Life's Sounds Of The Seventies Vol. 4 1976 RE-1.)

Has anyone besides me noticed a drop out on "50 Ways To
Leave Your Lover" during the 1st chorus on the line, "You
don't need to discuss much"? Noticed this while listening
to my iPod today, and it seems to be on both the single
and album versions. I have the song on "The Essential
Paul Simon" and at least one other CD, and I'm wondering
if this dropout is also on the original vinyl LP and/or
45. Anyone have the vinyl and can confirm?
