The database lists some CDs with a 3:45 run time and others with a 3:34 run time, neither of which have notations. Since the song ends cold, the 3:34 version must be either an early fade, remix, or edit.

There were two promo CDs issued that I know of, each one having the exact same track listing and printed run times---PRCD 4996-2 and PRCD 5160 (the one I have). Here are the details of my copy:

1. Original Version (listed 3:46; actual 3:45)
2. Swemix Edit (listed 4:20; actual 4:19)
3. Dave Morales Remix (listed and actual 3:48)
4. J.J.'s Glamarama Dancehall Remix (listed 4:15; actual 4:16)

ABC Radio Network's Hot AC format used to play both cuts 1 & 2 when it was a current. My local top 40 station only played cut 1.

Does anyone know if Inner Circle's single "Games People Play" had a single version?

Both the cassingle and TM Century disc list "Radio Mix" for "Games People Play." Air time of the TM disc is 3:22 (meaning it runs a few seconds longer). The import single with a 3:26 "Radio Edit" lists a remix credit to Per Adebratt and Tommy Ekman.   I don't know if that helps or not.

Thanks, Ed! It looks like the b-side of your cassingle is the same as track 2 on the promo CD, just with a slightly different mix name.

No one can more skillfully "piggy-back" a non-Top 40 hit query into an existing thread than my old buddy Gordon can! :) And, since I completely share his healthy curiosity for #84 Billboard hits, I am more than happy to help you, my friend. Here is my promo CD single info for "Games People Play". And, like "Sweat" had as well, there were two separately numbered and designed promo CD singles for this song, although they both included exactly the same 5 tracks:

Inner Circle-"Games People Play" (PRCD 5770-2, with custom artwork) & PRCD 5796 (generic Big Beat/Atlantic artwork)
1-Radio Mix (listed 3:27; actual 3:25)
2-Original Mix (listed 3:57; actual 3:55)
3-Dancehall Version (listed 3:50; actual 3:49)
4-Extended Mix (listed 5:41; actual 5:39)
5-Legalize Dub (listed 5:08; actual 5:06)

Gordon, I will soon shoot out the "Radio Mix" to you for your further analysis.

Thanks, Ed! I guess the mix names are identical then.

With Jim's help, I was able to carefully study and compare:

1-Radio Mix (listed 3:27; actual 3:25)

And I can confirm this is the same version on the Inner Circle album. So the "radio mix" is on the album, but the "original mix" is ... who knows where? Maybe on some import albums?
