I'd also like to add that my 1-track promo CD single of Dino's "Romeo" on Island PRCD-66333-2 also contains the 7" Edit and has an actual run time of 4:14, not 4:10 as stated on the label.

I have a 4:05 edit that I believe appears on -

(S)     (4:05) Compass Productions 973072479 90s Girls Night Out (neither the 45 nor LP version)

This neither version sounds like an edit of the 12" remix, and a good one at that! So it raises the question - was this edit done in-house for this V/A comp
or was it an official edit serviced from Island in 1990?

I only have one promo CD, which is the same one Todd mentions above. The catalog number, however, is PRCD-6633-2. It appears the one mentioned above has an extra 3 in it by mistake.

The commercial CD Single of "Romeo" has a
version labeled as "Radio Edit". Does anyone
know if this is the same as the aforementioned
"7" Edit? Also, does anyone know of any
versions of this song without the rap? I'm
thinking maybe the rap was taken off the Radio
Edit and kept on the 7" edit, perhaps?

Hey Dan, I purchased a digital version of this maxi-single via Beatport several years ago when Universal made some of their dance catalog available. Unless they fudged and used the wrong "Radio Edit" on
this release, I can say that it does contain the rap and appears to be the same as the 7" Edit. BTW, while this release appears to have disappeared from Beatport unless their search engine is just being
stupid), it's still available (as of now) via Qobuz.

*Edit: Per mjb50 (below), the CD maxi actually contains the remixed "radio edit" not the standard 7" Edit as included on the more recent download version. So the download does not appear to be a 1:1 match
to the original release.

Another point of interest unrelated to Dan's question: in searching around Discogs, I found another CD that, according to the user notes, likely contains the same version that
Dave L. describes in Post #3 as "neither the 45 nor LP version". Looks like this version may have been sitting around at the label somewhere and just not used on the 12" or CD
releases for whatever reason.

Monster Trax, 1991

(Edited to add the link)

I have a rip of the CD maxi, and the Radio Edit on there runs about 4:06 and is an edit of the 12" Remix. It is not the same as the 7" Edit which runs about 4:14.

Oof. So the download doesn't match the original CD maxi. I shouldn't be surprised! I will update my previous post - - Thanks!
