although not in the db because of it's low chart position (number 40 in early 1992), my commercial cassingle issued as tommy boy 993 states the version as the "smack on the cheek mix" with a stated run time of 4:25 on the cassingles face and does indeed run that length.....

Ed, is your copy of Tommy Boy 993 a cassingle or a cassette maxi-single? (I thought the only single formats in which this song was commercially released were maxi-singles.)
My U.S. commercial CD maxi-single (Tommy Boy TBCD 993) contains the following four versions:
1. Smack on the Cheek Mix (4:25)
2. LP Mix (6:12)
3. Full French Kiss Mix (6:59)
4. Smackapella Mix (5:14)
All times are stated times.
