It took me years to track this down on 45 (and now it may be years before i find what box i've put it in). From memory, I do believe the label does specify a version (probably radio version), and the 45 is identical to the version i heard on the radio growing up in the 90s.

My 45 does not specify a version and is identical to the LP version.

On the Dumb And Dumber soundtrack, the song is missing the opening drumstick taps.

There are no opening drumstick taps during the intro of Deadeye Dick's "New Age Girl" on the 90s Now Volume 3 CD (K-Tel 3850) either.

The song was first released on the Deadeye Dick A Different Story CD (Ichiban 6501) and thus I would consider it to be the true parent CD/LP of "New Age Girl". (The Dumb and Dumber soundtrack didn't come out until roughly six months later.)

Therefore, it appears all database CD appearances running 3:26 are missing the opening drumstick taps found on the single and album version.

I thought I'd bump this up since I've modified some information in my previous post.
