I have a question about Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody", which has been my favorite song on the charts this summer... Lately on my local Top 40 stations here in Pittsburgh, I've been hearing a version of this song that begins right at the point where the vocals start and eliminates the first :30 of the album version. Does anyone know if this is an official radio edit, or are the radio stations most likely simply cueing the album version past the first :30?

I haven't seen a promo single, but Promo Only serviced a ~3:51 version, and RCA's digital promo service sent a 3:50 version, all approx. the same length as the CD version.

Todd:
My copy is on TMStudios Prime Cuts and by golly it runs 3:22. They are servicing the Album Version (3:51) on the upcoming GoldDisc. Interesting.

I receive a music service from Radio Ventures Inc. and this is the version they include.
KINGS OF LEON - Use Somebody (Edit) - 13/3:20/C

Just wanted to bump this back up, since the shorter "Edit" version mentioned by John and Martin hasn't been added to the database. Again, there may not have ever been a physical CD single serviced to radio; however, the edit is most definitely an official record company version.
Whereas the LP version tracks into the next song, the "Album Version" serviced to radio just does a very, very quick fade at the 3:51 mark (almost chopped off). The "Edit" version has the full ending of the song not segued into the next song on the album and not chopped off abruptly, giving us about another :04 of audio not on any other version. Also, the "oooooooohhhhhh" background vocal on the intro is brought up in the mix on the first :02 of the "Edit" version. This is pretty much inaudible during the first :02 on the "Album Version."
