Pat:
The database currently shows Jon Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" on the Blaze of Glory/Young Guns II CD soundtrack (Mercury 846473) with a 5:33 run time and an "LP version" comment. I've noticed however the previous track on that CD "Miracle" (Track 2) runs 5:06, followed by :03 of silence and then a :10 of spoken dialogue with a howling wind sound effect that segues directly into the point where the "Blaze of Glory" track begins on Track 3. Because of this, if you were to start playing the CD at Track 3, the howling wind intro of "Blaze of Glory" begins cold and at full volume instead of a smooth fade-in like how the album version intro is heard on the promo CD single. (The single version begins with a smooth fade-in as well.)
Do you think this is worthy of some sort of database notation for the Blaze of Glory/Young Guns II CD? (i.e. - "previous track contains :10 of spoken dialogue and a howling wind sound effect that tracks into the introduction")

I think that's definitely worthy of noting. Do all of the database CDs with the LP version (other than the soundtrack) have a fade-in wind sound effect with no dialog?

Here is what I have going back to my notes on "Blaze Of Glory". The 45 states that this song is from the "Young Guns II/Blaze Of Glory" cd so I am forced to take the contents of that "Young Guns II/Blaze Of Glory" cd as the album version. It so happens the way Mercury indexed that cd, the introductory wind comes in at full volume so all cd's that I have identified as "LP version" have the sound effect coming in at full volume while the cd's where the wind fades in I call the "45 version" and as far as I can tell that is the only difference between the 45 and LP version. I would not have indexed the cd as Mercury did but that's the way the cd was pressed so that's what I have to call the "LP version".

Just in case it might help, here are the details from my 1990 promo CD single:
Jon Bon Jovi-"Blaze Of Glory" (CDP 279)
1-(Edit) (listed 4:18; actual 4:23)
2-(LP Version) (listed 5:38; actual 5:39)

On my copy of the Rock the First Volume Two (Sandstone 5008) various artists CD, Jon Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" begins with some dialog from the movie Young Guns II. The database currently shows this CD with a "45 version" comment, but I would argue this needs further clarification based on the criteria Pat outlined in his previous post. Perhaps a more accurate comment would be something: "opens with some movie dialog which precedes the LP version on the Young Guns II soundtrack album".
