To my knowledge, there is no difference between the two.

Promo single had both versions on it. I couldn't hear any difference between the two.

I have two different promo CD singles for this song, and here are all the details:
Spice Girls-"Wannabe" (DPRO-11592)
1-Single Edit (listed 2:52; actual 2:51)
2-Junior Vasquez Single Edit (listed 2:54; actual 2:53)
3 & 4-Call out research hooks #1 & #2
Spice Girls-"Wannabe" (there is no "stock #" , but it is on an officially-produced Virgin gold CD-R)
1-LP Version (listed 2:55; actual 2:52)
2-Edit Version (listed 2:10; actual 2:07)
