although not in the db because it was on airplay only hit peaking at number 36 in early 1999, the eminem song "my name is" was a hit non the less....i have a promo cd single issued as aftermath intp-6527 with the below listed tracks

1-clean version (4:29)
2-album version (4:30)
3-instrumental (4:29)
4-a cappella (3:46)

although listed as the clean version, track one contains the word "tits", which i don't believe is permissible on the radio.....also.......billboard listed a 12" vinyl catlog number of aftermath 95040, so it did chart in billboard

I'm guessing many/most CHRs dayparted this one heavily (for us it was strictly an after 6pm song), so borderline lyrics were less of an issue.

For the record, that #36 peak was the actual Billboard "Hot 100" peak, NOT "airplay-only" (it actually peaked at #23 on the Airplay chart and #66 on the Sales chart).

I heard a couple stations do a custom edit that removed the "t" word. In fact, one station's edit in my area had one of the most bizarre (yet funny) edits I've ever heard. Right before the offensive word, the song stops cold, and someone comes in and says "mammary........glands" and then the song resumes.

I'm pretty sure the video on MTV also dropped out the vocal in that spot.
