I have the song "Beauty And The Beast" by Celine & Peabo on a TM Century GoldDisc. The actual time is 3:30, and there is no description given. Since database times are all 4:02/4:03 with no notation, I presume this must be a promo edit. Perhaps someone can provide more details, since I don't have the actual promo single.

Can the 3:30 promo version be recreated?

I also have that short version on a TM disc. I don't have/know the longer version, but I compared my edit to a 4:03 version on an amateur YouTube video, which presumably uses the commercial single/album version.
The songs' structure lines up until ~3:16, where there's a cut around the final word "Beast." I believe it cuts to the word "Beast" and final few seconds at the end of the full version. If someone wants to send an mp3/wav of the full version, I'm happy to analyze the edit/mixes more carefully.

Never mind...I had the edit as well on a TM Century issued series.

Here is my promo CD single info:
-Celine Dion And Peabo Bryson-"Beauty And The Beast" (ESK 74090)
1-Non-described version (listed 3:30; actual 3:31)
Aaron, since you started this thread, I have shot you out this above-mentioned promo version, for your further analysis.

This matches the version I have, Jim. The only difference is that TM has faded it in about a half second later and faded it out about a second earlier.

To supplement Jim's promo CD single info, I thought I'd pass along that cassette single copies of Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson's "Beauty and the Beast" have an actual run time of 4:03. (Thanks to Edtop40 for assisting with this.)
By the way, Pat, I also wanted to bring to your attention that the song currently does not come up at all when conducting a database artist search for Peabo Bryson.

Does anyone have the actual edit points for the 3:30
edit? Every time I try it it just doesn't seem "right"-
the problem is that little instrumental flourish before
the word beast-they are both so different and my cut for
the word just seems abrupt. Do you use the flourish
before the first "beast" or before the second "beast"

I've just been attempting this edit for the past hour, and I can't seem to get to work either. That "flourish" is not convincing on my homemade copy.

I'm thinking it's some sort of crossfade. Nevertheless,
very well done edit.
