The database lists one length for the 7" of John Cougar (later Mellencamp) - Ain't Even Done With The Night while the album version is longer.
I found a video on YouTube that whittles about 30 seconds off the album version, but have no reference for the original 45.
Is the time listed for the 7" in the database incorrect & the video actually the correct single length; if not, could someone post the edit points for taking the LP version to the 7" version?

AFAIK the single is just an early fade of the LP version.

The run time in the database is correct. The song fades early at 3:18.

...And they're aren't ANY edits?
I (from memory) last night made about three edits, then made an early fade. If you don't edit the song, it's not even through with the reprise of the chorus & hasn't gotten into the repeats of "ain't even done with the night" yet.
I'm not saying you're wrong... I'm just wondering how confident you are that it is ONLY an early fade.
(I'm only about 60% confident on my edits, but they make sense to me.)
If you feel sure of this, I'll go back and redo my single edit version tonight!

I used the actual 45 as my guide to create the single version. I was also surprised that it was just an early fade in a rather strange place. After the horn solo, it starts fading during chorus. From memory, it was about a 15 to 18 second fade.
If I'm not 100% sure about something, I always say so in my post, so you can be confident that there are no edits in this one.

Aaronk, thank you. :) I find your posts reliable, which is why I hesitated questioning this one.
That's so interesting / odd that they didn't edit! There are at least three easy edits you could make (editing one instrumental phrase out in the beginning of the "ain't even done with the night" repeat & fade section, skipping the horn solo & chopping off the intro) that, with just a little bit of an early fade, gets you closer to the "whole" song into the same 7" edit length.
...I'm sure the producer who edited this song nearly 30 years ago would be THRILLED to hear today how I think he should have edited it... ROTFL!
Thanks for the clarification; I'll correct my edit tonight.
