My commercial 45, confirmed as Epic 10233, has a listed time of (2:24), but an actual time of (2:27). My 45 is styrene, with machine-stamped deadwax of "JZSP119595-2A". All eight of the current database CDs for this song (all which run 2:34 or 2:35) include a note by Pat, where he correctly states that all CDs include a :07 intro that does not appear on either the 45 or LP.

Digging this one up....
I guess I've never heard the true US 45. Does anyone know how it actually
starts? Does it start cold with the La La Las? Or does it start with the drum
taps?
I have the version from Rock Artifacts, Volume 3 and I'd like to chop off the
intro to create the correct US version (assuming it's possible) but I can't seem
to find a source for guidance online (YouTube doesn't seem to have a video
of the US 45).

JL, the 45 does, indeed, start cold with the la-la-las. Chop away!
