Pat:
I thought I'd bring to your attention some CD releases not accounted for in the database. I don't know if you're aware of this, but most of The Eagles' CD catalog was remastered in 1999. The remastered pressings look virtually identical to the older pressings except the back insert trays of the remastered CDs state: "DIGITALLY REMASTERED BY TED JENSEN AT STERLING SOUND, NYC, MARCH, 1999." The remastered discs also have the number "2" added to their respective catalog numbers.
I have five of The Eagles' remastered CDs and have posted all pertinent information regarding the Top 40 hits appearing on each disc, including actual run times:
Eagles (Asylum 5054-2)
(S) (3:29) Take It Easy (LP version)
(S) (4:10) Witchy Woman (LP version)
(S) (4:15) Peaceful Easy Feeling
On the Border (Asylum 1004-2)
(S) (4:14) Already Gone (LP length)
(S) (4:33) The Best of My Love (LP version)
One of These Nights (Asylum 1039-2)
(S) (4:50) One of These Nights (LP version)
(S) (6:21) Lyin' Eyes (LP version)
(S) (4:46) Take It to the Limit (LP version)
The Long Run (Asylum 508-2)
(S) (3:40) The Long Run
(S) (4:53) I Can't Tell You Why (LP length)
(S) (4:24) Heartache Tonight
Greatest Hits Volume 2 (Asylum 60205-2)
(S) (6:29) Hotel California (LP length)
(S) (4:24) Heartache Tonight
(S) (2:56) Seven Bridges Road (45 version)
(S) (4:44) Life in the Fast Lane
(S) (4:53) I Can't Tell You Why (LP length)
(S) (5:03) New Kid in Town (LP length)
(S) (3:40) The Long Run
The only remastered Eagles CDs I don't have are: Greatest Hits 1971-1975 (Asylum 105-2), Hotel California (Asylum 103-2) (I have the DCC release of these two discs), and Eagles Live (Asylum 705-2). Perhaps someone can pass along all the pertinent information regarding the Top 40 hits on these CDs.

Thanks, Todd.
Don't know if I ever mentioned that the 45 versions of Hotel California and New Kid in Town were issued on a BackTrax CD back in the 1990s. Thought I had posted that at some point, but I did a search and can't find it. The sound is very compressed on both songs, though. Pity they didn't issue any other Eagles BackTrax CD singles, except for Please Come Home for Christmas.

Brian:
I remember the Elektra label's BackTrax issue of The Eagles "Hotel California/New Kid in Town" CD single, but I didn't realize it contained the single lengths of both songs! But if the sound quality is compressed, then I'd rather just take the LP lengths on my superior sounding CD copies and fade them myself to match the single lengths.

Well, I guess I shouldn't say it's compressed, since I've never heard those two songs on CD elsewhere, but they do sound a bit flat to me. It would probably help to brighten them up, though.
Regarding the BackTrax series, as far as I know, every BackTrax CD single used the 45 versions. It's really a shame they didn't continue with that series on CD. If they had issued on the BackTrax titles on CD that they did on cassette single, we would have so many 45 versions on CD that we're now missing!

One thing I forgot to clarify regarding the Top 40 hits appearing on the remastered Eagles CDs is that many of the run times differ from those on the original CD pressings. I believe it was board member Bill Calhill who pointed out in another thread that ICE magazine has reported many of the original Eagles CD pressings were issued with speed problems. This was supposedly corrected on the remastered discs.
