The UK 25th Anniversary CD of In Rock has "Black Night (original single version)" and runs 3:25 but the U.S. Warner Brother 45 label states a playing time of 2:58.
Can someone verify the length of the U.S. 45?
If it is indeed 2:58 is that a fade or edit from other versions?

Indy, my U.S. promo 45 (Warner Bros. 7405) lists (2:58) but plays an actual, just-barely (3:01).
The end fades.

Actually, I found a copy cheap on ebay and it came in today. There is actually an edit rather than a fade. The organ solo from 1:50 to 2:16 on the English single version is cut. I made my edits on the downbeat of "one." With that edit and the same fade it runs just as you note, 3:02.

Btw, the 45 single version of this song appears on the Time Life disc Sounds of the Seventies - Guitar Power (R942-23), track 13.
