It's been my understanding that the 45 was the same as the
album version on What Up Dog, running 4:16. (That
CD sounds great, by the way, with digital clones on Time-
Life's Sounds Of The Eighties Vol. 29 Rolling Stone
1987-1988 and Modern Rock Vol. 10 Late '80s,
both of which are digitally exactly 0.4 dB louder than
What Up Dog.)
There's an edit that turned up on the CD Pick Of The
Litter, running about 3:58. Any idea where this edit
came from? Was this on a promo CD single? Was it even
released at the time in 1988?

Ron -
I haven't actually timed out my 45, but the listed time is 4:00. My 12" single also has a 4:00 version.
