I have a promo CD single release for Aretha Franklin's "A Rose Is Still a Rose" on Arista 3455. It contains the following tracks and actual run times:
1) Without Intro - 4:27 (printed time is 4:25)
2) With Intro - 3:59 (not 3:56 as stated on the label)
The "Without Intro" version is the same as the album version.
I'm pretty sure the "With Intro" version is the same as the single version, but I don't have a commercial single copy to verify. I'll work on obtaining this info and will report back when I have it.

Thanks, Tom and Ed. It turns out the "With Intro" version of "A Rose Is Still a Rose" on the Arista 3455 promo CD single release is the same as the single version.

The "Without intro" version has the vocals at the
beginning of the track without the overlying guitar so
it can't be combed or scooped from the album version
which is rather annoying.
The lead version on the cd single should be "without
intro" which would be the short version of around
3:59. The longer version is the album version and runs
around 4:26 and is track number 2.
