the db states that most of the songs are "alternate
takes"....what is the difference between the alternate
takes and the non-alternate takes?

On the alternate take at (0:39) Elvis adds the word "Well" before he sings "You've gotta follow that dream wherever that dream may lead." The "Well" is not on the hit version.

On the hit version at (1:06), Elvis sings "That's what my dreams are all about". On the alternate take he sings "Just what my dreams are all about."

Thanks Paul for this info (I wish the actual hit version was stereo as all the alternate takes are).
