I know, not a Top 40 hit (peaked #95), but nevertheless a record that did
gain notoriety when covered by a certain British band, I have two versions
of this. One runs 2:37 (as the 45 label shows
http://www.discogs.com/Little-Richard-Kansas-City-/release/2 825748)
from the Sequel CD "Under The Influence The Original Versions of the
Songs The Beatles Covered". This sounds like the one The Beatles
covered. The other runs 2:16 from the Rhino "18 Greatest Hits" and is
different.
I have also seen a 45 online with the title "Kansas City/Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey
(A Medley)" with runtime 2:37 and from the Specialty LP "The Fabulous
Little Richard" written on the 45.
Any info on this one regarding which pressing/version is the original?
thanks.
