my commercial 45 for the osmonds song 'love me for a
reason' issued as mgm/kolob 14746 states the run time on
the label as 3:45 and does indeed run that length....the db
states that almost all of the versions on cd are noted as
"lp version"...i just listened to my greatest hits cd and
they sound the same, except for the recurring mono/stereo differences (all the instrumentation is there on both
versions, it just sounds different because of the
mono/stereo issue) and the vinyl 45 fades out for 0:08 from
3:37 to 3:45.....pat, what are you hearing between them
that is cause for the 'lp version' moniker?

In the thread I just bumped up for you, Ed, here is what
Pat said about "Love Me For A Reason."
Pat Downey wrote:
Regarding "Love Me For A Reason" I hear
horn overdubs on the 45 version that I do not hear on the
LP version. Listen starting at 1:25. My notes on Yo Yo
indicate that the 45 and LP start diverging at the 2:00
mark. |
