I've been looking for info on this but to no avail. The version that is on "THE BEST OF" and the import, "THE STORY" is not the 45 version. I don't know about "TEEN IDOLS" and VENUS-VERY BEST OF. It's close, but when it gets to the "20 fingers, 20 Toes" line, it's sung completely different. I suspect that all stereo appearances of this song are an alternate stereo version and if anyone can confirm that, the DB should be changed. My question is, where can one find the mono 45 version?

Looks to me like "Togetherness" first appeared on a greatest hits album titled "A Whole Lotta Frankie" and that LP was issued only in mono so any stereo versions must technically be called a remix I guess. Anyone else have any input here?

No, the vocal track is different. At least at the points I mentioned. I would call it an alternate version, not a remix.

Unfortunately, all database CD entries containing Frankie Avalon's "Togetherness" consist of the alternate stereo version. Now, I notice that The Fabulous Frankie Avalon import disc on Ace UK shows no indication on the packaging of the track being in stereo. So can anyone who has this CD confirm if "Togetherness" is indeed in its hit mono version form on there?

I just listened to a sound sample of "Togetherness" from Ace UK's The Fabulous Frankie Avalon CD as it appears on the company website and the results aren't very encouraging because the sound sample is definitely in stereo. However, the rear insert tray states: Mono except * stereo right above the track listing, so this would mean that all tracks with an asterisk next to them are in stereo, correct? Well, "Togetherness" does not have an asterisk listed next to it, which would suggest mono. So again if anyone has this particular CD who can confirm whether the song is in mono or stereo, it would be greatly appreciated.

It's quite possible that they opted for the stereo
version if no mono master tape still exists for the
track.
