my commercial 45 for the love unlimited song 'i belong to
you' issued as 20th century 2141 lists the run time on the
label as 3:12 but actually runs 3:21....you'll need to fade
the 3:47 cd version for 0:15 from 3:06 to 3:21 to
effectively re-create the true 45 version....pat, the db
states the the 45's run time is 3:26.....can you confirm
that is the correct running time on your 45.....jim, what
is your 45's run time as a double confirmation.....

Ed, our timings are within one second of each other. My commercial 45,
confirmed as 20th Century 2141, with handwritten deadwax of "T M-2141-
AS-1" has a listed time (3:12), but an actual time of (3:22).

There is a 2018 CD release that has the single version faded at the length of the 45. The Uni, MCA and 20th Century Records Singles 1972-1975 has all of the a & b sides released by the trio for a total of nineteen tracks including "I Belong To You."

This is a bit off topic, but it doesn't appear that the above compilation has the short DJ 45 version of "It May Be Winter Outside (But In My Heart It's Spring)". I don't have the vinyl Under The Influence Of Love LP for comparison purposes, but if the track I've found on various Love Unlimited comps is the actual LP version, then there were three different mixes of this song. Neither the short DJ 45, the long DJ/commercial 45, nor what I'll assume to be the LP version were mixed the same. Even the stock 45 had a "long" notation on the label. They weren't kidding: the intro alone runs 1:05!
