The database currently shows the following general comment for Filter's "Take a Picture":
(dj copies of this 45 ran (4:14), (4:22) and (6:01); commercial copies were all (4:22))
I thought it might be useful to include promo CD single track description info for database subscribers:
(Reprise PRO-CD-4214)
1) H&H Mix - 4:14
2) Album Edit - 4:22
(Reprise PRO-CD-9980-R)
1) Edit - 4:22
2) Album Version - 6:01
If my research is accurate, commercial CD single copies state "Album Edit".

During its chart run, I heard my local top 40 stations playing the "H&H Mix," while alternative/rock stations played the "Edit."

I had to refresh my memory and listen to the 2 mixes...
it is definitely the "album edit" i recall hearing most in
NY at the time. I did hear the H&H mix on a few stations.
And for unsolicited triva :-) ... I was amused to hear an
interview with the band back then.
If you'd like to understand the lyrics better, he wrote it
about a flight between gigs in which he popped an Ecstasy
and danced around the plane in the nude.
Now the lyrics make sense.

I have a promo CD-R that has the Pratt Edit and printed time of 3:23. I'll post details on it ASAP.

Actually, here are the run time details from Tom, posted back in 2013. I will take a listen to this version and report on what mix is contained on it.
