my commercial 45 for the marv johnson song 'you got what
it takes' issued as united artist 185 lists the run time
on the label as 2:30 but actually runs 2:41....if you fade
the 2:40 stereo version for 0:10 from 2:31 to 2:41, you
can effectively re-create the vinyl 45 version...this 45
runs time info s/b added to the db...

I have an mp3 of a very wide 2-track stereo mix, though I
have no clue where it originated. My copy of the track on
this release:

(S)     (2:49)   &nb sp; Collectables 2770 Marvelous Marv
Johnson/More Marvelous Marv Johnson

is of a very poor stereo mix, and it almost sounded
rechanneled until I widened it enough to hear that there is
some separation, although definitely not much! I would love
to know where a wider mix can be found.

Would love to hear that very-wide mp3 Tom!

Never knew that song had any real-stereo version; all I had
was a medium-quality DCS.

I have an MP3 of the stereo version, 2:46 in length, with a very short, abrupt fade at the end. It has the piano and bass in the left channel and everything else about halfway between center and right.

But the left channel is very muddy and there's lots of spillover between the channels, so it sounds to me like someone's attempt to isolate the piano and bass using a graphic equalizer, like a crude form of DES (Digitally Extracted Stereo).
