ed,
it's great you have the 45s to check the speeds against current CDs.
Changing the speed in a song is so easy with Audio software. I just wish all
those reissue labels would take the time to compare their versions with the
45s. oh well, at least we have our board!

Good point, David, although the "Recorded by Polydor" credit shown on the U.S. Laurie 45's label opens up the possibility that the Laurie single may not have been mastered at the same speed as the German Polydor 45. What's a reissue compiler to do?
Why, go with the Canadian Quality 45, of course. :) Two weeks at #1 on the CHUM chart, no less!

I own an original German Polydor single for this record,
as well as a copy on Laurie. It may be several months
before I am able to, but at my first chance, I will
compare the two versions for length and speed. While at
least half of my collection is not filed and unorganized,
I know that these two 45s were properly filed right next
to each other and will be easy to find once my soon-to-be
wife and I find a place to move into.
