dj copies of this 45 ran (3:50); commercial copies were
all (4:15)

Can someone please tell me how the dj copy differs from the
commercial 45/LP version please? Any info on edit or fade
points would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

One edit--remove the section from about (3:12) to about (3:33). (The guitar solo is excised and it cuts to the last vocal chorus.)

My edit just runs slightly slower, but I'm not sure whether the promo was actually slower.

Revisiting this, can John (Yah Shure) or anyone with a
DJ 45 list the actual run time? My recreation of the DJ
edit runs 3:53, even though the database says the run
time is 3:50. I'm thinking that is the listed time.

John, although my DJ 45 states 3:50, the actual playing time is 3:53.733.

The Greatest Hits CD track runs exactly two-tenths of a second slower than the DJ 45 after making the edit, so your replication should be close enough, unless you need to squeeze in an additional .2-second commercial in that stopset. ;)
