regarding "with every beat of my heart": the cd promo and 7" single for this
song state a runtime of 4:12, while the LP version runs 4:22. was this single
version a distinct mix or just an early fade? also, while the 6:35 "extended
radio remix" of the song (which appears on the recent 'playlist' cd) is
definitely the version i remember hearing on new york radio stations, it was
a much shorter edit...was there any dj promos that had this shorter remix? or
was it possibly an in-house edit to match the LP runtime? thanks for any
help.

Interesting! I'd always assumed that the LP version was the only one out there.
It runs 4:22 and 121.3 BPM throughout on Can't Fight Fate. The following discs all use the same analog transfer as Can't Fight Fate:- PolyTel Canada's Hits Plus Hits (1990)
- swaitek's promo 50-CD set The A List Disc 47 (1994)
- JCI's Only Rock 'N Roll 1985-1989 (1994)
- Warner Special Products' 2-CD Sweet Love (1996; truncates tail of fade)

There is a two track promo CD ASCD-9895.
1. Single Version (4:12 listed; 4:23 actual)
2. Extended Radio Remix (6:25 listed; 6:31 actual)
