It should be noted that the following CDs do not contain the correct 45 edit of "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)":
- Essential Michael Jackson (Epic/Legacy, 2005)
- The Jacksons Story (Hip-O, 2004)
They re-edited the LP version to try matching the 45, but they didn't get it quite right. On the true 45, the opening cymbals start at nearly full volume for exactly one beat. On the above CDs, the cymbals fade in for approximately two beats. The most obvious mistake, though is around the 2:05 mark, where you hear a single horn blast on the incorrect edit. That horn blast is not present on the 45, because there is an edit in a different place.
I don't have any of the other CDs in the database that have the supposed 45 version, so there may be others with the wrong edit.

Thanks to Ron, I was able to confirm that the correct 45 edit appears on Pop Music The Modern Era 1976-1999.

Thanks for posting this. Seems I had the incorrect edit
in my library for years!

Same here, I too was hearing the wrong edit all these
years. Now I have to find what CD I ripped it from because
it was not one of the above two Aaron mentioned.
On the wrong edit I also hear a cymbal crash on the word
"dance" just before the horn blast while the 45 does not
have the cymbal crash.

I have both versions and I hear the differences. Thanks
for pointing them out!
I had the 45 in 1979 but don't remember the exact way it
sounded.

Is the "Remix" on "Destiny" (30th anniversary edition) the actual John Luongo
Disco Mix? It is indicated as such on Discogs. It's also indicated so on the
2021 re-edition.
