Although the 45 version is readily available, if you only have "The Dude" and want to cut it down to the single edit, it involves four edits and an early fade.
In order:
1) delete 2:11 to 2:45
2) delete 2:20 to 2:24
3) delete 2:37 to 2:57
4) delete 3:38 to 4:14
...then fade to 4:12.
I'm suspicious that the 7" version may also be a hair faster than the LP version, at least the single edit I had to compare to the LP version (both of mine are digital sources, not vinyl).
I hope this helps someone!

Gene, does the 45 keep the full 6.5 second fade-in of
what appears to be a backwards cymbal? I don't own the
45, but a video on YouTube of the 45 only has 1 second
of the fade-in. This is important because the CDs in
the database all vary with this intro, but none that I
know of are 1 second in duration.
