I didn't realize that the 3:53 Clean on NOW 41 is not the single version. Apparently a 3:59 radio edit with a longer spoken intro is on the promo CD and appears to be lossy. The NOW 41 rip is lossless.
I checked and the mix between the album version and the radio edit, besides time difference differs slightly with the major difference of the spoken words for the first 10 seconds and no beginning applause like in the CD version.

Therefore none of the listings in Pat's database are the correct single version based on this promo.

Your description of the radio edit on the promo CD matches the digital single I purchased in November 2011 but appears to no longer be available. It does not seem to happen that often anymore, but it used to be quite common that when a digital single was released prior to the album, the digital single would be deleted once the album was released, even if it differed from the album version.

3:59 is the run time on the file from PrimeCuts.

The only way to know if it is lossy is to check the promo CD, which I am working on. Will let you know.
Otherwise this is one of those cases where you are right the correct single version simply has not been available all this time. There are only a few instances in the top 40 from 2010-2012 where the promo was not lossless (Your Love by Nicki Minaj comes to mind).
