I don't think I've shared this here yet.
A couple of months ago, Joel and I sat down and did a
little video at his dining room table. Kind of a "stay at
home" deal. We're thinking about making more of these in
the future, so let me know your thoughts.

Very interesting Paul and I would vote yes on more fireside chats with Joel.

Loved the video. Being “fireside” is a great idea. That would take it to
the next level, for sure.

I had seen the video at BSN. Perhaps, a Zoom meeting where
fans of Joel (and Paul) could ask virtual questions?

Thanks for the feedback, guys!
Any future videos will probably be shot in the vault at
Joel's house (he doesn't have a working fireplace, LOL!).

While we’re waiting for a followup, here’s an enjoyable YouTube video
with Joel Whitburn’s tour of the RR collection. Excellent quarantine
viewing, if humbling -- see how your own record bunker compares.
Paul - any fun stories behind this video?

I remember the day that Heritage came to film that video.
There is some creative editing going on at the (1:48)
mark. They are entering the building where our offices
are located (and where I work from), but they made it seem
like they were going into Joel's vault (which is actually
at his private residence a half mile from the office).

Here's a video I made a couple of years ago about my
journey from Record Research customer to employee.
Some of you may not have seen it yet.

That was great!
And hearing you guys talk about Joel getting started
in all this brought back my very fond memory of
discovering my first one of these books.
It was 1982 and in a book store with my Dad. I was
browsing the music section and my eyes fell on "The
Billboard Book Of Top 40 Hits"....I was in awe. My Dad
didn't have a lot of money, but he saw the look on my
face when I asked him to buy it for me. My eyes were
ablaze with "want!" ...so he bought it for me.
Oh so many nights after that just reading and
absorbing it all...
So yes, Paul I'd love more interviews with you both!

Great story, Mark! I remember buying my first Record Research book - the same one you bought, as it was around 1982. I remember also being in awe when I saw it and spent endless nights reading through it ... and of course all the other RR books I bought over the years.
