Just was wondering but is there any reasons this is not with or featuring the Bee Gees? The Bee Gees produced iot and their vocals are on the chorus and some major parts of the song. Great song btw.
This should have been a bigger hit, just missing the Top 40. Maybe if it was released in 1979 this would have been huge. Instead I feel like it get buried in 1983's Hot 100 rather quickly just like the Stayin Alive songs did....
Here's Barry's demo for the song. Total Bee Gees song!
P.S. Anyone know how long the 45 version runs or is it the LP version?

This is one of many songs that I felt got cheated on the Hot 100 during that 1982/83 time frame. It peaked at #17 on
R&R's CHR chart and at #15 in the Gavin Report. I certainly heard it quite a bit on the radio at the time.
As for the artist billing, it wasn't uncommon at that time NOT to list featured artists. The Bee Gees backlash was still
in effect and billing them on the record probably wouldn't have helped much and may even have hurt its chances.

As for the time on the single, it's listed on the label as 3:41, but runs 3:48. I think the LP version is 3:56, so
it MIGHT be an early fade, but I don't have it at my fingertips right now. -Bill.

I have a dub of the 45 that truncates the very end of the fade, but otherwise matches the LP version.
Safe to say that if the end weren't truncated, the 45 dub would match the LP version exactly.
I have the LP version from the Heartbreaker CD, where it runs 3:54 and has a very long fade from about 3:23 to 3:54.
