I'm confused by inconsistent labeling of this song on all
singles. On the back cover it states "Album version of
"Two People" can be heard on "Break Every Rule" (Album
Cassette & Compact Disc)".

But on the vinyl label itself it states "Taken from the
album "Break Every Rule"".

The track itself is labeled "Single Mix".

Has anybody compared it to the album version for any
differences?

I have always maintained that any version on cd does not match my
recollection of what was played on the radio so I'm interested in this as well.

I compared the version on Play This In Store (which also matches the file I have from Break Every Rule) with the "Single Mix" dubbed from the 12". The only difference I hear on the "Single Mix" is that it's EQ'd with a tad more bass and has some light compression added. It's not a different mix, but the bass and compression makes it sound slightly fuller.

Now, it's possible the 45 has something entirely different and that the 12" is mislabeled as "Single Mix."

The "fullness" is what i think is missing on all cd versions. Thanks for the
info.

Based a 45 rip (in mono) on YouTube, I'd say the 45 is the same as the album version.
