Hi everyone, how are you? I'm opening this thread about
Matt Bianco's single "Don't Blame It On That Girl."
While the song didn't chart in the US, it's a band with
some hits in Europe and also in South America. As Aaron
mentions in the "New Logo and Site Updates" post, "Also,
I'm open to adding the missing Billboard Top 40 hits, as
I think many of us have wanted to see those included.
Furthermore, I'm open to adding lower-charting songs that
might be of interest, such as songs by a major artist
that missed the top 40 or songs that have become
legitimate "hits" over the years despite not charting
well upon release." This is one of those songs I'd really
like to see included in the database.
Now then, I'm looking for the new mix version. Could
anyone shed some light on this? Is this version the same
as the LP version? Does anyone have a stock 45 of this?

Marcelo, Atlantic Records told us, in my record store, that the 'A' side was 'Don't Blame It On
That Girl'. It soon became evident that the 'B' side, "Wap Bam Boogie" was looking to be the most
played, in clubs and on the radio in Chicago. It entered my store on 1/13/89. I know, we were late
to the party! The 12" had the single version and had a stated time of 3:50 and indeed ran that
length. As in most lower charting dance music from 1973-1990, the SINGLE versions are hard to find
in digital. As far as DBIOTG, the 'Indigo' CD Atlantic 81878, has the LP version and a '12" mix'.
The 12" vinyl has an 'Extended Version' with the same stated time as the '12" mix', 6:11. The 12"
also has a "Rare Groove Mix" with a stated time of 6:03. I don't know if that's the 'New Mix'
you're looking for. -Bill.

I've got the stock 45 of Don't Blame It On the girl. Listed
time of 3:45, and states "New Mix"
