Pat, what's the difference between the “Golden Hits Of” vinyl LP version and the 45 for this?

David: In the U.S., for a few months during 1961, WB put out 2-song-on-each-side EPs as the "official 45 release." "Don't Blame Me" (and 3 other songs) was on one of these. I have one. It is significantly shorter than all other appearances. I believe WB was a bit concerned about going past a certain length of total audio on each side, and didn't want to go too "micro-grooved" on the record. More skip-prone. My guess: were it not for this short-lived experiment, the longer version MIGHT have appeared on the conventional 45. If you'd like to compare it against what you have, PM me.

my commercial 45 for the everly brothers song 'don't blame
me' issued as warner 5501 (+2) lists a run time on the
label as 2:16 but actually runs 2:21 and is an edit of the
full length 3:23 lp version......this 45 run time info s/b
added to the db...
