the db should be amended on this one.....the cassingle issued as uptown/mca 54200 contains the "untouchables "westside" remix" and it runs 4:50.....it is just an early fade of the "home mix #2" that is on the import cd single which runs 5:43....the full lp/cd version is NOT the remix version....does anyone have the commercial 45 issued as uptwon/mca 54200....if so what is the version on the a-side and what is the run time....

Ed - since you asked, the commercial 45 on Uptown 54200 has the same version (the Untouchables Westside Remix) as the cassette single, with a run time listed as 4:50

I just compared the CD copies of Peaceful Journey (the parent album) and Heavy Hitz, and those two CDs both contain the same LP version. Heavy Hitz is definitely not remixed on my copy. The database specifies "remix," which makes me wonder if there are different pressings of the disc.

The "Untouchables 'Westside' Remix" that appears on my promo CD single and on the cassette single is a drastic remix with a completely different music track. Here are the promo CD single details:

CD45-1635
1. LP Edit (listed & actual 4:00)
2. Straight Mix (listed 5:41; actual 5:36)
3. Untouchables "Westside" Remix (listed & actual 5:43)
4. "Eastside" Instrumental (listed 5:42)
5. Untouchables "Westside" Instrumental (listed 5:42)

The actual time of the cassette single and vinyl 7" single, as reported earlier, is 4:50. This is simply an early fade of the 5:43 "Untouchables 'Westside' Remix" from the promo CD.

Does anyone remember which version was the "hit" version on the
radio? I seem to remember hearing the album mix (assuming the lead
off "LP Edit" on the promo CD single). The cassette single and
commercial 45 seem to tell me this was not the case.

The LP mix has always been the definitive mix to me. That's what the
music video uses, and as you already pointed out, it's the lead track of
the promo CD single. I don't ever recall hearing the remix until years
later, because I did not own the promo CD or cassette single back then.
Now, whether it's the video version, full LP version, or LP edit that's the
"hit" is certainly up for debate.

Just watched the video on Vevo, which runs 4:09.

How does one recreate the 'LP Edit' from the 'LP
Version?"

The LP Edit is just an early fade of the full LP version, fading from 3:47 to 4:00.

Thanks for the clarification Aaron. I agree regarding the LP
version/edit being the version I remember hearing most often back
then.
