can anyone help me on where whitburn gets the running time for the song "hey leonardo (she likes me for me)" by blessid union of souls.......in his book "pop annual 55-99" he states the running time is 3:50........every commercial version i've seen runs around 3:24-3:28........the 2 promo cd singles i own of the track have a live version that runs 3:58 and one promo has a non-described version that runs 3:28 and a hot a/c mix that runs 3:28 too..........

Hey, Ed:
According to Joel Whitburn's Top Pop Singles 1955-1999 book, he lists the Push label promo CD single with catalog number 90417 as his source. If you have this particular promo single and it doesn't contain a 3:50 version, then chances are Whitburn got this one wrong.

Hey Ed, I have just timed the 90417 promo single and it is indeed 3:24.

reviving another buos track.....the promo cd single which whitburn states has a 3:50 track does contain the 3:24 track....that promo cd single is issued as pshdj-90417-2..........question is.....i have another promo cd single for this song which contains as the first track the "live version" (running 3:56), and the second track as the "hot a/c mix" (running 3:24)........the two 3:24 versions from each disc sound slightly different....does anyone else have any promo cd single info to share here.....the second promo cd single has printing on it so small my blind eyes can't read any of the info!!!....ie the catalog number....btw...the regular 3:24 version sounds fuller and snappier that the "hot a/c mix".....anyone else agree??

Ed, I did actually have to pull out my magnifying glass to determine the details for what you refer to as the "second promo CD single", and here they are:
Blessid Union of Souls-"Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me For Me)" (V2DJ-27604-2)
1-Live Version (listed & actual 3:56)
2-Hot A/C Mix (listed 3:24; actual 3:25)

Is the Hot A/C Mix noticeably different than the LP
Version?

Is it the LP version that appears on the US "NOW! That's
What I Call Music! 3" CD?

I don't think I ever heard the A/C Mix, so I can't tell you what the difference is between that and the LP.
Aaron might be able to tell us.

Yes, it's a slightly different mix, but it's not dramatically different. The acoustic guitars are brought forward in the mix and the lead vocal might be a little louder, too. There is also reverb added to the last note, where as the 1-track promo with the (presumably) LP version edits very abruptly.
