Pat:
It appears that all CD appearances containing the stereo mix of Luther Ingram's "If Loving You Is Wrong (I Don't Want to Be Right)" are mastered from vinyl. Steve Massie, who produces and masters many CDs for the Varese Sarabande label, admitted on the Both Sides Now message board (www.bsnpubs.com) that he dubbed the song from a mint vinyl album for the Dick Bartley On the Radio Volume 5 CD (Varese Sarabande 302066185).
Meanwhile, I have the Stone Soul Classics Volume 1 disc on Collectables 6382. Although the sound quality for the stereo mix on that disc is probably the best I've heard, I can definitely detect some vinyl "artifacts". Therefore, Pat, you might want to make a note that "If Loving You Is Wrong" on the aforementioned CDs were mastered from vinyl.
