just listening to this song under the headphones and I noticed it sounded a little weird. The song moved around the stereo image a bit, e.g., during the answer vocals. I thought it was maybe the MP3 I'd made for the iPod, but when I checked my two source CDs (Soul Shots and Groovin Sixties), they both do it. So I mono'd it and re-made the MP3! Anyway, maybe the database should reflect this. Are any of the other sources flat mono (I didn't check my two "e" sources to see if they do that too)?

There never was a stereo mix on this song. While recorded to 3-track, additional live guitar overdubs were done to the mono mixdown. The version on Groovin' Sixties, which is the cd I have the song on IIRC, is a really bad (to my ears) rechanneled version.

Commercial 45 copies of Bill Deal & the Rhondels' "I've Been Hurt" are in mono and have an actual run time of 2:08 (the printed time on the record label is 2:10). Since database CD appearances of this song range from 2:01-2:09, I thought I'd pass this info along to assist folks interested in seeking out the CDs with the correct 45 length.

The mono side of my promotional copy of the 45 lists (2:10) and actually runs (2:09) per a dub of the disc I made for a youtube video. I never timed the stereo side as I only played it once and found that it revealed a much weaker sounding mix of the song (and yet still appeared to be mono to my ears). I've got the disc in storage now but can dig it out some time in the next week or so to time the "stereo" side.
