For anyone looking for the 1968 hit version of Jose Feliciano's "Hi-Heel Sneakers" on CD, I've found it on an Dutch import disc called Che Sara: His Greatest Hits on the Disky/Woodford Music label. Jim was gracious as always to send me an mp3 of his 45 for comparison purposes. I should note that the CD plays at a faster speed and fades out approximately :03 earier than the 45. The CD is stereo, while the 45 is mono. Unfortunately though, some heavy-handed noise-reduction was used on the CD, thus causing the high end frequencies to sound muddy and dull compared to the vinyl 45.

Todd, the hit version of Hi-Heel Sneakers recently appeared in the US on the cd "Light My Fire: The Very Best Of Jose Feliciano" RCA/Legacy 704541. And yes it is faster than the 45 or LP.

I appreciate you passing the info along, Pat. How would you describe the overall sound quality of "Hi-Heel Sneakers" on that particular CD?
