My commercial 45 has a listed time of (2:14) and an actual time of (2:12). I only post this info because the only current CD in the database for this song states a running time of (2:56).

I was able to finally answer this question for Ed.
The 45 is an edit of the LP version, but is also a
dedicated mix. The edit removes the 2nd verse, which
accounts for the time difference.
But the 45 has a rhythm guitar overdub clearly heard in
its 2nd verse. This guitar is missing completely in the
LP mix.
Also there is a loud pounding drum during the last
chorus, from about 1:45 on. That drum is almost mixed out
of the LP version, only becoming loud during the final 5
seconds.
The 45 also has more reverb on her lead vocal.
The 45 is also pitched much slower than the LP.
So 45 purists will have to stick with a disc dub on this
one.
