Is there an edit in this to get it to the about :10 shorter 45? I am told elsewhere that the 45 is an early fade, rather than ending cold as does the LP. If the latter, then the labeling in the database needs updating to "LP length".

You are correct David, the 45 does run (2:38) and fades out while the LP version run (2:47) and ends cold. While not all agree with me, due to the cold ending on the album, I consider this a version difference and not a length differnce.

my commercial 45 issued as casablanca 854 states the run time as 2:38 and does indeed run that length and is just an early fade of the 2:46 full length cd/lp version....if you fade out for 0:06 from 2:32 to 2:38 you will effectively re-create the vinyl 45 version....

I have just acquired a unique, mono/stereo Casablanca 854 promo 45 copy.
Noted in small capital letters on both sides is "LP Version-Cold Ending". Both
sides have a listed time of (2:50), but an actual time of (2:46). Mono side
deadwax: "NB-854-AM-DJ-CSM". Stereo side deadwax: "NB-854-AS-DJ-
CSM".
I recall hearing the same version that's on my stock 45 (for which a
Casablanca 854 mono/stereo promo 45 also exists) on my local Top 40
stations during the spring of 1976.
