My commercial 45, which is stereo, has a listed time of (2:31), but an actual time of (2:28).

Hey Jim,
Funny you should mention it... Just last night I was comparing the 45 version with the LP version and I found some instrumental overdubs in the LP version that are not on the 45. It's apparent in the first 15 or so seconds. My 45 also clocks in at 2:28, but the LP is 2:27. It's probably a speed difference.

in addition to the channels being reversed on the so called
"45 version" in the db......the 45 doesn't have the
clapping during the outro/fade out which the cd "45"
version has....pat....this entry needs to be reviewed
again....

Ed, the vinyl 45 version has no clapping whatsoever at the end.
The vinyl LP version - which is a completely different take than the vinyl 45 - does have clapping over the sustained last note.

Disc 2 Track 12 of the "Reprise Recordings" is what is called the 45 version on the cd jacket and has no handclaps on the fadeout. How about your cd?

Real Gone Music is releasing the Charity Ball album on CD in June with a
bonus track of the 45 version of this song. Much cheaper than then the
Rhino Handmade box.
