Here are instructions for creating the 45 edit from the LP version.
I have the LP version on these CDs:- Body Talk - Just The Two Of Us (Time-Life R834-13, 1997; the best-sounding of the bunch)
- Body Talk - Hearts On Fire (Time-Life R834-21, 2000; digitally exactly 1 dB quieter than Just The Two Of Us
- More New STuff: Columbia Records Retail Sampler (Columbia CSK 1296, 1988)
There is one simple edit to create the 45 version (times are based on Body Talk - Just The Two Of Us:
Keep 0:00.0-2:40.9 of the LP version.
Edit on the last tom-tom hit before the downbeat going into the second chorus.
Keep 3:46.8-4:56.3 (end) of the LP version. This second segment begins with a key change and the words "live forever" repeated in the higher key.
Total time of my re-created 45 version is 3:50.
