Both my commercial and promo 45's have a listed time of (4:19), but an actual time of (4:15).

Track 2 of the promo cd single for "Girlfriend" (MCA CD45-17591) is "Mercedes Boy" (Remix). Can anyone cofirm if this remix is the 45 version of "Mercedes Boy"?

Mike, I also own the promo CD single you have referenced above, and I can confirm for you that both tracks on the disc are, in fact, the 45 versions.

CURIOUS: While I don't own vinyl for the 7", 12", or album, most of my copies have been either 4-something or 6-something, indicating the 7" length or album length.

However, on this page (link died this evening!!!) the blogger lists a track on the CD maxi-single as 3:46 in length & calls it the 7" version. I've downloaded the file, & his posted length is correct.

Can this be identified as a shorter version of the 45 version, or is this a short edit of the dance mix that never made it to a 45?

While we're on the subject, there's a listing of this track that runs 5:43 & is labeled as a "radio edit."

A radio edit of what, is what I'm wondering, and which of these three lengths (3:45, 4:15, or 5:45) was actually the version played most of the radio around the country?

UPDATE: I've determined the 3:45 is simply an early fade of the 4:15... perhaps a DJ edit?
