Same thing with this song. At 3:14, it changes. Sounds like an edit, but when comparing the 45 to the "30 GH" version, there's nothing with which to create the 45 edit. Another case of 45 / LP differences? Is there extended version anywhere that might be used to create this version?

Thanks to Bill Cahill, I just obtained a copy of the vinyl 45 of "You're All I Need To Get By" and sure enough just as Robert reports, there is a difference between the 45 and LP versions starting at (3:14). I do not see how you could edit the LP version to create the 45 version. All entries in the database are either alternate takes or the LP version.

Jim reports his commercial 45 copy of Aretha Franklin's "You're All I Need to Get By" is in mono and has an actual run time of 3:37, not 3:33 as stated on the record label.

I found a pretty good needle drop of the mono 45 on Youtube. If anyone wants
my restoration, let me know.
Also, there is a longer promo version.

I believe the 45 can be recreated from this, although the 45 is mono and the
promo is stereo.
more "new" info on "old" songs...what a great hobby!

I didn't realize I had a copy of the one-sided "long version stereo" DJ 45 for all these years until just last week. It also solved this thread's nearly ten-year-old mystery.
David's hunch was correct: the (3:33)-listed mono DJ and stock 45s were edited from the "long version stereo" (4:07)-listed, (4:06) actual DJ 45. The edit occurs, as Robert and Pat noted above, at 3:14, immediately after the letter "T" in the line, "'cause we got our love and some R-ah-E-S-P-E-C-T". At that point, 21 seconds and change is removed, and when that same line appears the next time (only on the long version), it's edited at the same point, resuming with "OH!"
The long version stereo DJ 45 also fades out later than the (3:33) 45s, and runs at a slower speed.
The track on Aretha's 30 Greatest Hits CD is simply the long version stereo DJ 45, slightly sped up and faded out a half-minute early.

Hmmm--all of the database entries that note "LP version" all have similar run times. Does that mean all of them are edits of the long promo?
And for that matter, what was on the LP version?

Seems the parent LP for this track would be "Aretha's Greatest Hits" issued
later in 1971 - anyone have that LP to check?

You mean I have to listen to this song again?. ;)
My promo copy (white label stereo) of Aretha's Greatest Hits contains the same early fade of the long stereo version DJ 45 as 30 Greatest Hits. Listed and actual time is (3:34).
