My commercial 45 has a listed time of (3:39), but an actual time of (3:44).

Am I correct in assuming that the single version cannot be created from
the album version? I think the fade out is unique, right? Thanks.

Rich,
According to the database, the lone 45 version entry is
available on GH 1 and II.

Digital versions contain the LP version so you'd be
better off looking for a CD copy.

At quick listen between the 2 versions, it sounds like
an edit of the LP version to get to the ending on the
45.

I believe there are two edits to get to the 45.

Didn't they restore the LP versions with later CD
pressings? I think you need an original fat-box CD copy
to get the single edits.

Yes, they did. It was remastered in the late '90s when "Greatest Hits Vol III" came out and they swapped out the LP versions for most of the songs.
