"Something Happened On The Way To Heaven", that is.
I found this from an earlier thread:
PHIL COLLINS - SOMETHING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO HEAVEN
1990 (S) (4:50) (dj copies of this cd single run (4:49), (4:46) the "one world mix dj edit", (5:38) the "one world mix" and (4:37) the "7" version"))
I played my commercial 45 (Atlantic 7-87885, 1989, printed 4:41, actual 4:49), and it exactly matches the version on Atlantic's Year In Review: 1990 (Atlantic PRCD 3674-2, 1990; printed 4:50, actual 4:49).
This seems to be track 1 from the promo CD - is this the LP version?
There's a version on Now That's What I Call Music 18 (Virgin EMI Polygram UK CD NOW 18) that runs about 4:37, which is just an early fade of the 4:49 version described above. I believe this is the the so-called 7" Version from the promo CD, which was most likely the UK 7" version. The US 7" version runs the full 4:49.

I was doing a run through of CD singles through discogs and the cd single you reference came up. So 13 years later, I can finally comment on your observations.
First, I dont think I ever heard this One World Mix DJ Edit, but its not half bad! Im assuming this got airplay, its got a better beat on it but man those 90's remixes are funky!
Anyone who wants to listen...

The 45 you mention is on its own 1990 CD Single promo, which has one track

I dont have the 7 inch on track 3 of that promo. Aaron can you check and confirm if it is an early fade of the 45 version?
So that leaves me more confused...would this be a case where the 7 inch version, which is an edit trumps the 45 version? Either that or we just call it the UK 7 inch, right?
Ah the 90's...
