My commercial 45 has a listed time of (3:03) and an actual time of (3:02). I only post this info because current CD database timings for this song range between (2:55) and (3:02).

15+ years later....

A recent post of a mono promo 45 on YouTube reveals a long, drawn-out fade
to 3:02, which likely explains why many CDs dump the song early. Anyone have
it on CD running the full 3:02?

Does anyone know if an import CD contains "Let Her In" from a tape
source? Every domestic and import CD I've bought has always been from
vinyl. But you never know. I bought an Australian CD for some songs and
was pleasantly surprised to see that Samantha Sang's follow-up to
"Emotion", "You Keep Me Dancing" was from a great tape source! In the US,
it was on Private Stock and all those tapes were destroyed. (As for
"Emotion", Rhino got a tape source, and I'm guessing that the Bee Gees or
Robert Stigwood had such a copy).

This reminds me of the "Rocky"/Austin Roberts situation. In the US, it was
on Private Stock, tape destroyed, and everything's been from vinyl. But it
peaked around #20 in the UK, and I would think that tape wasn't also
thrown in the trash bin. But it seems all the import albums with this song
(and there are many on Spotify) all use vinyl sources.

According to the database, it's 3:02 on K-Tel "'70s Teen Heart-throbs."

What makes you think they use vinyl sources? I don't recall noticing anything that would particularly indicate a vinyl source on this song.

Even the Varese CD "John Travolta Sings," mastered by Dan Hersch and Bill Inglot, is taken from vinyl?

Yes, when listening on headphones, I think the vinyl noises are pretty
noticeable. Both on Rhino & Varese. Mark Mathews, can you chime in on this?
I believe you noticed this, too.

Oh my gosh, Gordon, I can't remember. Can you send me the
sources in question again so I can re-evaluate them?
