Pat:
I want to bring to your attention a Don McLean domestic CD release not listed in the database. It's called Legendary Songs of, released on Capitol 81654. Here is pertinent info regarding all the Top 40 hits appearing on this CD:
(S) (8:30) AMERICAN PIE (LP version)
(S) (3:58) VINCENT
(S) (3:45) DREIDEL
(S) (3:47) CRYING (much slower than the 45 or LP)
(S) (2:33) SINCE I DON'T HAVE YOU
(S) (3:40) CASTLES IN THE AIR
Like all other Don McLean CDs I've heard, most of the tracks sound very hissy on this disc.

Todd:
I am presuming that the CD you mention contains the later recording of "Castles In The Air" and not the original from 1970.

I always much preferred the first recording of "Castles..", as it was a bit more upbeat. I think it may have had a chance of being at least a minor hit, had it not been for some song called "American Pie." LOL.
