All current db CDs include either the song's LP version or 45 version.
My station was sent a 12" single in 1983 (Epic 49-03490). My copy doesn't
say "Demonstration Copy - Not For Sale" on it, but I do see that other 49-
03490 copies did, via on-line label scans. It came in a generic black
cardboard sleeve, and it does have a gold "promo" stamp on the corner of it.
One side has the listed (5:43) LP version, while the other side features a
listed (4:53) version. This side says "Special Version from the Epic LP, 'ATF'",
and notes at the bottom, in small print, "Remix Engineer: Michael Frondelli". I
will now be looking into this (4:53) version further.

Should anyone want to edit the LP version down to the
single version, remove:
1) 0:00 - 0:02 (leave one one drum hit before downbeat)
2) 0:32 - 0:48 (edit on downbeat)
3) 1:32 - 2:04 (edit on downbeat)
4) 2:16 - 2:32 (edit on the "CHA!")
5) 3:19 - 3:50 (Hardest edit, on downbeat, into lyrics)
No fade needed to match 45 edit; final edit runs 4:07 to
silence.
I used Priority 53684 / Rock Of The 80's Volume 4 as my
source for this edit.

I was curious about Jim's 4:53 version so I found it on
youtube. It's a dub-mix/instrumental version. It was the
B-side of the promo 12" yet oddly it was the A-side of the
commercial 12".
I used to have the commercial 12" and just assumed the LP
version was the A-side.
BTW, also on youtube someone posted the UK 12" single.
It's the same basic structure of the LP version but
remixed with different reverb effects.
